Swedish Bible (Den Gammal Svensk Bibeln)
Swedish Bible (Den Gammal Svensk Bibeln)

After reading about the Swedish Cabin in the “Early American Life”, the Hopewell Museum in New Jersey donated an authentic antique Swedish Bible to the Friends of the Swedish Cabin in 2001. The 4.5 inch thick Swedish Bible is elaborately decorated. “Scenes from the Scripture are depicted in gold leaf on the Bible cover and its open side is secured with a pair of silver latches” (News of Delaware County, May 30, 2001). The Bible, printed in Swedish c 1890, is bright red and gold.
